A Clear Path From Consultation to Handoff
From the first conversation to the final walkthrough, Kane Remodeling guides homeowners through a clear design-build process with planning, pricing, selections, construction, and project handoff organized every step of the way.
How Your Remodel Moves Forward
The Kane Remodeling process is designed to give homeowners clarity before construction begins, with a stronger planning phase, architectural drawings, renderings, fixed-price agreement, selections, construction, and final handoff.
Contact Us / Initial Consultation
The process begins with a conversation. You share what you want to improve, what is not working in the space, and what you hope the remodel will accomplish. From there, our team answers your initial questions, reviews the general scope, and schedules an in-home consultation with a Design Consultant.
During the consultation, we walk the space with you, listen to your goals, discuss realistic budget expectations and timelines, and determine whether the project is a good fit for Kane Remodeling’s design-build process.
Design & Planning Phase
Once you decide to move forward, we begin the design and planning phase. Our team documents the existing conditions, takes detailed measurements and photographs, and starts developing a plan that reflects your goals, lifestyle, budget, and the way your home needs to function.
This phase is where the project begins to take shape. We focus first on layout, flow, function, and scope so every design decision is grounded in how the space will actually be used.
Architectural Plans & Design Renderings
After the design direction is established, we prepare the drawings and visual materials needed to clearly define the project. This may include floor plans, elevations, architectural details, permit-ready plans, and 3D renderings that help you understand how the finished space will look and feel.
This step gives you clarity before construction pricing is finalized. Instead of guessing from loose ideas, you can review the layout, design intent, and project scope with a much stronger level of detail.
Fixed Price Contract & Construction Agreement
Once the plans, renderings, and project scope have been reviewed, we present a fixed-price construction agreement. This agreement outlines the approved scope, specifications, drawings, payment schedule, project timeline, and final construction budget.
The goal is to move into construction with alignment and confidence. You understand what is included, how the project will be managed, and what investment is required before work begins.
Selection Phase
During the selection phase, you work closely with our team to finalize materials, finishes, fixtures, cabinetry details, hardware, tile, lighting, and other project selections. Our design guidance helps make the process organized and approachable.
At the same time, our internal team prepares the project for construction by coordinating orders, lead times, approvals, permits, and documentation needed before work begins.
Construction Phase
Once selections are complete, materials are ordered, and required approvals are in place, construction begins. Your Project Manager coordinates the work, communicates the schedule, and keeps the project moving according to the approved plans and agreement.
Throughout construction, you receive updates on what is happening in your home, what is coming next, and any decisions that may need your attention.
Project Completion / Handoff
As construction wraps up, we review the completed work with you, confirm final details, and address any remaining punch list items. This handoff ensures the finished space is reviewed carefully before the project is closed.
Our goal is for you to feel confident not only in the finished remodel, but in the process that got you there — organized, transparent, and professionally managed from start to finish.
